The Business Development Manager negotiates and manages new and existing business relationships and identifies new opportunities for business growth and expansion; conduct market analysis, develop effective marketing strategies, and generate new business. The position is responsible for the day-to-day direction and management of all sales and business development operations.

  • Develop and maintain yearly Business Development Plan and adjust as necessary to meet organizations objectives.

  • Develop marketing strategies to enhance this CRO's market presence and awareness within the CRO industry.

  • Conduct market research to evaluate industry segment sizes and requirements, customer needs, competitor profiles, market niches and potential for penetration.

  • Develop and manage penetration strategies for targeted companies.

  • Drive the development of international sales strategies.

  • Attend strategic industry tradeshows; travel and make sales calls to promote company's business.

  • Meet annual and quarterly sales revenue (or other) objectives established by senior management.

  • Use database to execute and track prospecting and marketing programs.

  • Maintain and foster active contact with prospective clients throughout the proposal and contracting process.

  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of internal capabilities and operational processes.

  • Work closely with senior management to align marketing and prospecting initiatives with short- and long-term business goals and priorities.

  • Coordinate and direct the development of new capabilities presentation(s), tradeshow material, marketing collateral and website content.



Perfil del candidato


  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in business, marketing or related field (graduate degree preferred, especially MBA).

  • Extensive experience in sales, marketing and/or market research, preferably in a client services or consulting environment; and knowledge of clinical research, CRO services, biotech, pharma, medical devices, healthcare or life sciences discipline.

  • Strong portfolio of contacts in the clinical research area.

  • Proven track record of new business

Remuneración anual: Negotiable
